Aysha E Arar est artiste palestienne. Poétesses et conteuses ses oeuvres se déploient en vidéos, fusains, peintures, performances sur tous les supports possibles, du papier au tissu, du petit format à la fresque, telle une urgence à prendre place, à occuper l’espace.

Aysha E Arar is a Palestinian artist based in Israel. A poet and storyteller, her work unfolds in video, charcoal, painting and performance on every possible medium, from paper to fabric, from small format to fresco, like an urgent need to take up space.

Le trait d’Aysha comporte cette fascinante énergie de l’enfance où tout est vibration, merveille et sidération entremêlées. Il y a de l’oralité dans l’esthétique de l’artiste, quelque chose du verbe qui se fait ligne et couleurs dans l’espace. Tel un conte nécessaire, qui répand des images d’alchimie, de frontières et de métamorphoses, l’oeuvre entend dépasser l’imaginaire de la terre perdue et raconter ce qui n’est pas entendu, à savoir l’amour, l’émancipation, la liberté.

ysha’s work has the fascinating energy of childhood, where vibration, wonder and amazement are intertwined. There’s an orality to the artist’s aesthetic, something of the word that becomes line and color in space. Like a necessary tale, spreading images of alchemy, frontiers and metamorphosis, the work intends to go beyond the imaginary of the lost land and tell what is not heard, namely love, emancipation and freedom.

La grammaire de l’artiste est reconnaissable entre toutes, faite de couleurs contrastées, d’un trait noir en sur-couches successives enlacées, d’une narration floue entre figuration et abstraction, de mains, d’ailes, de non-humains et de chimères. Aysha déploie une esthétique de la fluidité et de l’incertitude, qui parvient à tenir les contradictions, qui n’est pas sans faire écho à son identité personnelle.

The artist’s grammar is unmistakable, made up of contrasting colors, black line in successive interlaced overlays, a blurred narrative between figuration and abstraction, hands, wings, non-humans and chimeras. Aysha deploys an aesthetic of fluidity and uncertainty, which manages to hold contradictions and echoes her own personal identity.
