Ecoterrorism
Le terme a été forgé par l’extrême droite française, reprise par le ministre de l’intérieur du gouvernement français Gérald Darmanin, en novembre 2022, pour qualifier les mouvements environnementalistes et écologiques radicaux. Le terme, en plus d’être « indécent et irresponsable » (*🙏🏼 Noël Mamère in Le Monde), est politiquement faux si on comprend bien l’analyse des violences de Françoise d’Eaubonne… Les actions écologistes radicales relèvent d’une approche anarchiste de la violence (ie. ciblée sur les organes de pouvoir et les relations de dominations) et non du terrorisme des populations. D’autant que les mouvements actuels utilisent (encore) en grande majorité la désobéissance civile.
The term was coined by the French far right, and taken up by the French government’s interior minister Gérald Darmanin in November 2022, to describe radical environmentalist and ecological movements. The term, as well as being « indecent and irresponsible » (*🙏🏼 Noël Mamère in Le Monde), is politically wrong if you understand Françoise d’Eaubonne’s analysis of the violence… Radical environmentalist actions are part of an anarchist approach to violence (i.e. targeting the organs of power and relations of domination) and not population terrorism. Especially as the vast majority of current movements (still) use civil disobedience.
