Écoféminisme
Si le terme est apparu dans l’essai Le féminisme ou la mort de Françoise d’Aubonne (1974), la réflexion écoféministe lui pré-existe. l’écoféminisme est un mouvement très hétérogène qui partage toutefois l’intuition qu’il y a une alliance de lutte et un lien systémique entre l’oppression des femmes et notamment de leur corps et l’exploitation et destruction généralisée de la « nature » et du vivant.

Ecofeminism is a very heterogeneous movement which nevertheless shares the intuition that there is an alliance of struggle and a systemic link between the oppression of women, and in particular of their bodies, and the widespread exploitation and destruction of « nature » and living things.
La pensée écoféministe se structure dans les années 1980, autour d’actions concrètes d’organisations de femmes dans les pays autrefois qualifiés « d’émergents » (ex. En Inde autour de la figure de Vandana Shiva) mais aussi aux Etats-Unis au sein des mouvements féministes anti-nucléaire en pleine guerre froide et risque de 3e guerre mondiale. L’écoféminisme est tout à la fois un courant universitaire et un mouvement poétique dont les principaux concepts sont le Reclaim (ré-appropriation des attributs dits féminins), l’Empowerment (la légitimation dans la puissance) et le Care (bienveillance et l’attention à autrui).
Ecofeminist thinking took shape in the 1980s, around the concrete actions of women’s organisations in countries that had previously been described as « emerging » (e.g. in India around the figure of Vandana Shiva), but also in the United States within the feminist anti-nuclear movements at the height of the Cold War and the risk of World War 3. Ecofeminism is both an academic trend and a poetic movement whose main concepts are Reclaim (re-appropriation of so-called feminine attributes), Empowerment (legitimisation in power) and Care (benevolence and attention to others).
L’écoféminisme a longtemps été boudé par le mouvement féministe carriériste des années 1980, plus en phase avec le libéralisme économique de l’époque. Qualifié d’ésotérique, de farfelue, ou d’essentialiste l’écoféminisme refuse le jeu classique de la lutte politique et du raisonnable. L’écoféminisme ne réclame par exemple pas une égalité homme-femme (dans le système extractiviste en place), mais un autre modèle de société (dans laquelle les femmes et les hommes sont égalitaires). La parole écoféministe revendique une filiation avec la parole « folle » des sorcières du VIe siècle, se ré-appropriant l’hystérie, l’irrationnel, l’émotionnel comme approche du monde et de la colère envers le système en place. Leurs luttes sont souvent ritualisées et poétiques.
Ecofeminism was long shunned by the careerist feminist movement of the 1980s, which was more in tune with the economic liberalism of the time. Described as esoteric, far-fetched or essentialist, ecofeminism refuses to play the classic game of political struggle and reasonableness. For example, ecofeminism does not call for equality between men and women (in the current extractivist system), but for another model of society (in which women and men are equal). Ecofeminists claim a filiation with the « mad » speech of the witches of the 6th century, reappropriating hysteria, the irrational and the emotional as an approach to the world and anger towards the system in place. Their struggles are often ritualized and poetic.
